Fort Lauderdale Airport Expansion Is A Sign Of Easier, Better Travel
The ongoing expansion and renovation of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport can be seen as a sign of the times. Our airport needs more space for passengers and planes. But there’s more to the story. Today’s passengers demand excellence, beauty and advanced functionality in everything from concourses and terminals to canopies and pedestrian bridges. And they insist on better shopping and food choice, more seating and nicer bathrooms.
While many things are involved in making an aging airport better than ever before, signage and graphics are a big part of a modern, user-friendly experience. Expose Yourself is a trusted provider of murals, way-finder signs, ADA signs and more to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
Understanding The Expansion Effort
The Broward County Aviation Department is spending $3.2 billion over 4 years to improve our local airport. Funding is coming from revenues, fees and grants – without using any Broward County tax dollars. Improvements include efforts to provide better food and shopping choices, more seating and bathrooms, easier handling of domestic and international flights and fewer flight delays.
A South Runway aimed at easing delays and increasing the number of supported take-offs and landings was completed in September 2014. Improvements to Concourse A in Terminal 1 opened in July 2017, plus canopies and new pedestrian bridges have been installed too. Efforts are still underway to modernize and improve the customer experience in Terminals 1, 2 and 3 as well as expand Terminal 4.
The airport is the 21st busiest by passenger volume in the United States – with more than 325 departures and about an equal number of arrivals every day. The airport provides non-stop service to 140 cities in the U.S. plus Canada, the Carribean, Latin America, Europe and other destinations. More than 26 airlines move 80,000 passengers each day.
Signage To Impress And Assist
Part of what those 80,000 passengers see each day as they maneuver this imposing airport is created in the 20,000 square-foot facilities of Expose Yourself. We provide murals, electric signs, way-finder signs, ADA signs and directories for the airport. Plus, we create 3D letters, channel letters and more to assist, beautify and identify the facilities while assisting and guiding travelers, many of whom are visiting Florida for the first time.
The airport depends on us to help them create a positive impression on travelers, and you can depend on us as well.
